BBC Radio Cambridgeshire Content:
Presenters:
The presenter is only a small aspect of the radio show, mainly introducing other aspects of the show and having a small chat between songs. They're seen as the friendly face that runs the show and makes the impression amongst the audience listening in. They also handle the call ins and guests so they make an impression by interacting with their audience - even though they don't have the biggest slot in the show they make the biggest impression on those listening.
Call ins/ Guest speakers:
The call ins and guest speaker are a good way to allow the viewers to interact with the show and gives them a nice way to voice their opinions. This makes the target audience want to listen as they feel like they have a placer to voice their own opinions and concerns.
News, weather and travel:
This is the longest section of the show as the target audience enjoy being up to date with current news and events as well as finding out how the weather is going to be for the week so they can plan ahead so they don't have to go out during a storm.
Pre-recorded content:
This allows the show to run smoother as it has already been recorded and altered so the producers and presenters don't have to worry about being off time or accidentally saying the wrong thing. It makes it easier on guest speakers as they can have an interview and not have to worry about keeping in time with the running order and can be recorded any time before the show starts, giving them more freedom.
Target Audience:
Because the show is targeted to an older age group the show makes their news longer as it keeps the listeners updated to with the world and older people tend to find the news more interesting than younger listeners. BBC Radio Cambridgeshire is usually listened to on the commute to work. Therefore the travel is an important part of the show to have for listeners to know if their journey to work is going to be delayed. The listeners of the show like to voice their opinions so call ins are a very important aspect of the show as it allows their viewers take part in the show and discuss their opinions on a topic.
